The Triumphal Entry

“Hosanna, Hosanna, Glory to God in the Highest,” the crowd shouted as Jesus made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem on that Palm Sunday long ago. The excitement of the crowd was infectious as they cried and laid their palm branches along the way.

My, how sentiments can change in such a short time as one week later we find that the same crowd, cried, “Crucify Him!! Crucify Him!!” It seems like when it was popular thing to do they praised him, yet when the leaders turned against Him, the crowd followed the leaders.

You know, usually the crowd is wrong when it comes to spiritual things; however, for many people, the easy way is to go with the crowd. You know, there are those who would say today, “We don’t need Christ or the shed blood. We can change our world alone by social programs and humanistic endeavors. We don’t need Christ.” Even many who know Him have turned to the carnal crowd to follow their way and reject Jesus Christ.

However, Jesus has not changed, He is the Savior of the world and the only hope of mankind. Our rejoicing is eternal, because we have committed our total being to Him. Praise God for the precious blood that stained the old rugged cross and blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us. Hallelujah, CHRIST IS ALIVE.
