“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:7).
As gold is put through the fire, it is refined, and all the impurities are burned off.
Trials do come to the Christian as a means of purifying our lives and drawing us closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. The trial of our faith is to bring praise and honor to the Lord.
Trials, we don’t like or understand. However, we do realize, even if we don’t enjoy them, that they are sent to accomplish things in our lives and to bring glory to the Lord.
As a church, we have passed—and maybe to a degree are still passing—through the fire. But, praise God, the Lord is in control, and if we are faithful, God will do great and wonderful things in our midst.
Let’s keep trusting God and letting Him refine us as pure gold.
I’m enthusiastic as to what God is doing and what He is going to do in our midst in the coming days. Let’s trust God together.
